Suva to feature without 7 players

Suva will face Labasa in the Vodafone Premier League tonight with at least seven key players missing.

Suva FA President Ritesh Pratap says they only have 13 players from their Fiji FACT squad available for the match and the coaching panel has included 4 players from their youth squad to make up the numbers.

“We have injuries and suspensions affecting the team and this is beyond our control at the moment.”

“This will be a tough match as we saw how good Labasa was in the Fiji FACT. They will be out to win and so will be Suva. We did not have a good semifinal and want to make amends.”

“Definitely we will be going for a win in this match as we are in the running for the Vodafone Premier League and cannot afford to lose games and drop points,” Pratap added.

Star striker Setareki Hughes, goalkeeper Tevita Koroi and Kelvin Naidu are injured while Tomasi Uculoa, Epeli Lairoti and Don Raj are suspended.

Left back Aakash Sharma is still mourning the death of his father in Ba and will also miss out.

Veteran Pita Rabo, Ravinesh Karan Singh, Jale Dreloa and promising striker Sairusi Nalaubu will lead Suva’s campaign.

Suva is currently second on the standings with 12 matches after 6 matches while Labasa is fourth with 10 points after 5 matches.

The match kicks off at 7.30pm at Nausori’s Ratu Cakobau Park.
