Cavaliers grab Shield in Levuka

Lami Cavaliers defeated Ovalau 2 Black  20-10 to walk away with the shield at the TC Yasa-Ana 7s Tournament in Nasau Park in Levuka today.

The Cavaliers took the early lead with Peniasi Toga scoring the first try and led by 5-nil.

A good setup from the Cavaliers saw Kamanieli Driu diving in the corner and scored the second try but Peni Waidranu missed the conversion for the 10-0 lead.

Ovalau 2 Sitiveni Bokani had to leave the field after sustaining a head injury.

It was Mikaeli Bogidrau who ran to his breath and scored a try to bring Ovalau back into the game but Vilimoni Vesi missed the conversion.  

Lami Cavalier led by 10-5 at the breather.

Ovalau came out firing in the second spell with Amato Velote giving the equaliser and the conversion was missed again.

Bogidrau was taken out of the field after receiving a knee injury.

Aisea Saqa broke the Ovalau defence and scored two tries but the conversion was missed and sealed the win.

They received $100.00 prize money.
