Fiji international and Melbourne Storm prop Tui Kamikamica is ready to come off the bench and face the South Sydney Rabbitohs in the opening National Rugby League Premiership tomorrow.
Speaking to Stormnews.com, the Fijian lad said the pre-season training has helped the defending champs to prepare for a new season.
“It’s been a solid eight weeks of pre-season, a long one but also tough. We have done the hard part so the boys are prepared and we can’t wait to take the field tomorrow.”
“Yes, hundred per cent well, as long as I know I have a good pre-season and put my hand there to the coaching staff, do the job and I’m ready to go now.”
Last year, the side defeated Penrith panthers 26-20 in the premiership grand final and Kamikamica says he will come off the bench to make a positive start in the opening match this year.
“We always get a good game against South Sydney Rabbitohs and it’s also a tough challenge for us but we really had a good pre-season and the boys are really looking forward to playing in front of our home fans.
“For me this year just go out there and come off the bench, bringing a lot of energy because playing in the middle especially with the new rules coming, it’s going to be a fast and quick game and we really need to adapt to that. For me it’s just to go and do the hard job and keep it simple.”
The match kicks off at 9.05pm.
