The Labasa football team will be chasing nothing less than a win when it face Navua in Round 2 of the Digicel Premier League at the Uprising Sports Centre on Sunday.
Coach Ravneel Pratap said they want to settle scores against Navua and will not underestimate them.
“Our first game we went for a draw which was not the result we expected but we have moved our focus to Navua. They are a very hard to predict team because last year they defeated us in the League and we will not take them lightly.”
Pratap also mentioned the side needs to work on discipline and make sure there are no dead ends when they take on Navua.
“We have started the training and we are just trying to make things easy before we battle against Navua. Discipline of course is something that needs to be at the best level and the players are told to use some tactics and apply their skills in the field.”
“Some of the areas that we lacked were goal scoring which the team is working on and also defending. We don’t want to leave any chance for Navua because they come as underdogs and turn things around which we have to avoid.”
“Simple errors were identified against Ba where we could have scored but it’s the little mistakes that disallowed us. We want the three points and it won’t be easy and the players have to give in their hundred per cent to earn that three points.”
The Babasiga Lions will bank on the likes of goalkeeper and Captain Akuila Mateisuva, Iliesa Lino, Siotame Kubu, Ashnil Raju, Ilisoni Loloivalu, Ilisoni Logaivou, Marlon Tahioa and Ratu Apenisa Anare.
The Navua vs Labasa match kicks off at 3pm.
