Lal wants improvements before Ba clash

Nadi Coach Shalen Lal wants players to lift their performance and prepare better for the Round 2 clash of the Digicel Premier League against Ba after they had to settle for a 2-2 draw against Nadroga in the opening round.

Lal said though he was not expecting a draw and wanted a win, Nadroga surprised them with their style and structure of play.

"Our first game was tough. I am satisfied with the draw but we could have won that game if we used our opportunities well."

“It’s a 90 minute match and every minute was valuable for us but we just did not make good use of the chances. Personally, I wanted a thrilling start from the boys because we had been ironing out the mistakes in training. We took too many opportunities for granted and couldn’t score.”

“There are a lot of areas to work on especially after playing against Nadroga. We have realised that players lose their focus and once they start defending, they forget to attack. We will work on that because I saw Nadroga giving us a tough time and we want to improve before playing against Ba.”

“Ba of course is another big team but we will take precautions against them because they will come out firing and want a win. It’s just our team we need to focus on and prepare for the worst case scenario.”

The Online IT Solutions/Priceline Pharmacy Ba vs Ezy Kool Nadi match kicks off at 3pm at the Fiji FA Academy Ground in Ba on Saturday.
