Nalaubu nets winner for Lautoka

Star striker Sairusi Nalaubu scored a 61st minute winner as Lautoka fought tooth and nail to overcome Navua 1-0 in their Digicel Premier League opener at Churchill Park today.

The Tagi Vonolagi coached Blues were tested a couple of times by the plucky Southerners who played with a lot of determination and courage.

20-year-old goalkeeper Jayshneel Sivan made a grand debut and did not show any nerve between the sticks and pulled off some good saves.

The second half proved more intense as both teams searched for the winner and the hosts were able to break the duck through a clinical Nalaubu finish.

Viti Water Flow Lautoka is scheduled to play Rewa next while Navua will meet Priceline Pharmacy/Online IT Solutions Ba.
