Navua eyes improvement in midfield

Navua is working on tightening its midfield before the Round 2 clash of the Digicel Premier League against Labasa at home on Sunday.

Coach Amit Prakash said while they are wary of Labasa, they will not hesitate to beat them in their home ground.

“Labasa can be a tough team to beat but we will host them so things need to be tightened. We have been working on improving our midfield area which lacked against Lautoka last week."

"The players' sometimes lose their focus and forget to play the one touch ball game and they get to pass the ball to the finishers."

Prakash also said their 1-0 loss against Lautoka is a lesson for them and the side is getting settled before they take on the Northerners.

"Whatever happened against Lautoka is history now but one where we should learn from the mistakes we made. Lautoka taught us a lot of aspects like defending and reinforcing with a strong attack."

"The team has regrouped and players making sure to leave no stones unturned during our training. We want to prepare really well so that we get to the wining form."

Navua hosts Labasa at 3pm at the Uprising Sports Centre.
