Veteran marksman Osea Vakatalesau is happy to kick-start the 2021 season with a bang and aims to help Nadroga win some titles.
The 37-year-old former national, Ba and Lautoka rep netted a brace of goals in Nadroga's 2-2 draw against Nadi and currently leads the Digicel Premier League goalscorers' chart.
"I have been training hard to regain my lost form because returning to Premier Division after a break is challenging."
"Being the most senior player in the team, I have an added responsibility of leading the rest of the boys by example and providing them the guidance they need both on and off the field."
The Wailotua native from Wainibuka, Tailevu said Nadroga is now his home and he wants to give something back to his mother's province before retiring.
"I got on the bad side of things and my career almost ended but by joining Nadroga I received a new lease of life in terms of my football future. I helped the team to return in Premier Division and now that we are here, I hope to give my best in every game that I play."
While he admits age is catching up, he is determined to keep himself challenged throughout the season.
"I may not be the fastest striker in the country but I hope to use my experience well. I want to play more of an assistant role on the field and help my teammates score. But if I get good balls, both on the ground and in the air then I will surely finish off by scoring."
"We have a great team this season and some new players from other teams have joined us to add more experience. With this squad I am confident we can go a long way this season and win some titles," he added.
Meanwhile Moshins Insultation Nadroga will host Unique Rubber Stamp Suva in Round 2 of the DPL at Lawaqa Park at 3pm on Sunday.
