Vakatawa back for England showdown

Powerhouse centre Virimi Vakatawa is a strong comeback in the France starting line-up against England in the six nations cup on Sunday.

The 28-year-old missed France's first two wins of the Six Nations due to a knee injury sustained on Racing 92 duty.

French rugbynews revealed the return of Vakatawa in midfield is a huge boost for the side to face the defending champs.

He was in superb form before injury struck just before the championship but now his return marks a triple threat of step fend and offload are sure to keep England busy in defence.

An outbreak of Covid-19 in the squad caused their match against Scotland scheduled for 28 February postponed to later.

France squad: Brice Dulin; Teddy Thomas, Virimi Vakatawa, Gael Fickou, Damian Penaud; Matthieu Jalibert, Antoine Dupont; Cyril Baille, Julien Marchand, Mohamed Haouas, Romain Taofifenua, Paul Willemse, Dylan Cretin, Charles Ollivon, Gregory Alldritt.

Replacements: Camille Chat, Jean-Baptiste Gros, Dorian Aldegheri, Cyril Cazeaux, Cameron Woki, Anthony Jelonch, Baptiste Serin, Romain Ntamack.

France plays England on Saturday at 4.40am on Sunday.
