Baber's return depends on Canada 7s

Fiji Rugby Union chief executive John O’Connor says Fiji 7s Coach Gareth Baber's return will depend on the team's participation in next month's Canada 7s.

He said Baber is in touch with him and will decide on his return date once a decision is reached on the upcoming Canada tour.

"FRU is currently in discussion with World Rugby and has informed them of the challenges Fiji is facing in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic."

O'Connor said they should be able to come up with a decision later this week.

Baber flew directly to the United Kingdom after the Olympics to rejoin his family after seven months.

His contract with Fiji Rugby Union expires at the end of the year.
