Fiji Bati and Penrith Panthers hooker Apisai Koroisau scored a late try to secure a 25-12 victory over the South Sydney Rabbitohs in round 23 of NRL yesterday.
The Rabbitohs shed the first blood through a penalty which was successfully taken by Adam Reynolds.
A minute later, Dane Gagai and Latrell Mitchell scored two tries but Adam Reynolds converted once and led by 12-0.
Minutes before the half time, Nathan Cleary and Stephen Crichton brought the Panthers back into the game with a try each but Cleary could only convert once.
Rabbitohs trailed by 12-10 at the breather.
The Panthers dominated in the second stanza and did not allow the Rabbitohs to score any point.
Panthers were awarded two penalties which Cleary slotted and ensured the side took the lead.
Errors by the Rabbitohs turned out luck for Panthers and they scored a try via Brent Naden but conversion missed.
Koroisau played a key role in the one-pointer with a long ball from dummy-half and allowed Cleary to kick an infield goal.
Koroisau’s efforts were later rewarded with a try just before the siren as the Panthers ran out big winners.
