Maqala sends farewell message to Wainiqolo

Olympian Sireli Maqala sent an emotional video farewell message to fellow teammate Jiuta Wainiqolo today.

Wainiqolo, who has signed a contract for France Top 14 club Toulon in the new season, is expected to depart the country with his newly wedded wife this week.

Maqala is with his parents in Labasa and sent his best wishes to the new couple.

“I want to take this time to wish him well as he is ready to leave for France. We are all wishing you well, myself and my parents.”

“Apologies that we could not come over to Viti Levu to farewell you due to the coronavirus restrictions in place. Our prayers are with you as you leave for France,” Maqala said in the video.

Meanwhile, Maqala had recently turned down his international offer as he wants to continue playing for the Fiji 7s team.
