National rep aware of his job, says Swamy

Ba soccer coach Kamal Swamy says their national team rep is aware of his roles and responsibilities as the Soccer World Cup Qualifiers is just months away.

Swamy said the only rep in his side is Abbu Zahid and he has been in contact with the national football coach Flemming Serritislev since the second wave of the pandemic hit Fiji in April.

He said the national rep is following the training guidelines provided by Serristlev and they wait for sporting activities to resume in the country.

However, Swamy mentioned that the national reps would require more time to train as the qualifiers would not be easy.

Meanwhile, Serritslev also said the national boys have been provided with the training guideline but training as a team is something he is looking forward to.

He said Fiji’s selection at the World Cup Qualifiers cannot be based on personal training only but team training is a requirement.

The Danish man is waiting for a green light to be given from the Ministry of Health so that they are able to prepare ahead of the next year.
