Reserves likely for Canada 7s

Fiji Rugby Union chief executive John O’Connor has hinted at fielding reserve players in the Canada 7s next month.

He said while talks are still underway with World Rugby about Fiji's participation, players that missed out on Olympics selection are likely to travel to Canada as most of the stars of the Tokyo Games are spending quality time with their loved ones after being away from home for five months.

O'Connor also confirmed that World Rugby stated yesterday that countries who can’t take part in the Vancouver 7s will not be penalised.

The Vancouver 7s will take place on 25 and 26 of September.
