Drua's inclusion thrills Vunivalu

Fiji-born Wallabies winger Suliasi Vunivalu is thrilled with the prospect of next year’s new Super Rugby Pacific competition, which will involve the Fijian Drua and Moana Pasifika.

The 25-year-old speedster who will represent the Queensland Reds said the inclusion of the new teams will make things very exciting and make the competition more tough.

“It’s good to have that different game style. We had New Zealand this year with Super Rugby Aotearoa and Super (Rugby) AU combined, and with that coming along with Moana and Fijian Drua, it’s going to be really exciting,” he told

“Good to start those footy skills from those Fijians. I’m really excited for them, especially for my home country, so it’ll be good. I’m be looking forward to next year.”

Vunivalu is also confident of being available for Rugby Championship selection later this month.

“I’m just a couple of weeks off, so if I can pass a couple of fitness tests, I’ll be back with the whole (Wallabies) squad."

“I’m just focusing on getting my hamstring right and getting back my speed. I’ve got to keep working hard, and if I do get in, I’ll take it," he said.
