Foreign Coach for Fijian Drua

The Head Coach of the Fijian Drua will be an expatriate as the team aims to make an instant impact in Super Rugby Pacific next year.

Fiji Rugby Union chief executive John O'Connor said they will make an official announcement next week after completing all negotiations and discussions with the successful candidate.

"Yes, I can confirm that the coach is from overseas. The Fijian Drua will operate as a professional entity and we need a person with wealth of experience to sail us through in our maiden season."

"Once we announce our head coach, he will then appoint his assistants and other coaching staff."

Former Waratahs head coach Daryl Gibson,  French Top 14 club Clermont coach Frank Azema,  former Ireland head coach Joe Schmidt and former All Blacks and Wallabies skills coach Mick Byrne are some big names linked to the position.
