Over 20 players given Fijian Drua contract

Over 20 Fijian Drua players have been given contracts for the extended Super Rugby Pacific competition which kicks off in February 2022.

Interim Drua chief executive Brian Thorburn said they have a 38 member squad at hand but 20 players have been offered the contract.

He said they are waiting for the response from the players before providing a contract to the remaining players.

“So we will know the players in the next four to five weeks when we march in. And I expect we will announce the key player signings on a weekly basis. I’m personally excited about the quality of players and teams we are going to assemble.”

Thorburn also mentioned that Drua will depart to Australia in mid-October therefore; a full team will be announced at the start of the month.
