Robust Fiji 7s forward and Tokyo Olympics Gold medallist Asaeli Tuivuaka has signed a one-year contract with Italian club Zebre Rugby.

The Club announced Tuivuaka’s 2021/22 season contract following his fresh Olympic win.

The statements by Zebre Rugby Club President Michele Dalai said they are happy to give the city and the fans an Olympic champion like Asaeli Tuivuaka.

Tuivuaka also shared his excitement join a club of the calibre of Zebre Rugby.

“After the Olympics, I received a couple of proposals, but this was the one that convinced me the most.

I have followed the Zebras activity from a distance and am ready to get down to business with my new teammates.

My goal is to become one of the best Fijian players in Europe and to contribute to the Zebras in the new United Rugby Championship international competition. I can't wait to arrive in Italy and start this new experience,” he said.

Tuivuaka made his debut in the Fijian 7s colours in 2018 where he played as a utility forward and back.
