Debutants are very dangerous says Tuwai

Dual Olympic gold medalist Jerry Tuwai says the new debutants in the Fiji 7s squad can be dangerous at the Dubai 7s which kicks off on Friday.

Tuwai told FijiLive that young minds bring in a lot of impact on the team and are very courageous.

The play maker and former captain also emphasised on the importance of players' determination and game play saying the newbies are ‘very fast and content.’

"I have played with them and have seen their powerful playing style and their determination towards the sport."

"I have felt their pressure when we played against them in the local competitions."

"Yes, they are young talents but they hold a lot of courage in them."

"They will be dangerous and I say this because I have seen and felt the threat they posed during the local competitions."

"They cannot be countered easily and they usually come as underdogs."

"Dubai 7s is the best time for them to get an exposure and I’m proud that the new set of boys managed to book their spot in the team through their hard work and dedication,” he explained.

Fiji will begin their Dubai 7s campaign against France on Friday at 7.22pm followed by the match against Canada at 10.52pm before they take on Australia at 3.55am on Saturday.
