Fijian youngster to play for Aust 7s

The Australian men’s 7s side has included Fijian flyer Solomone Vosaicake in its 13-member squad for Dubai 7s which kicks off on Friday.

The speedster is among eight debutants named in the new-look team.

Another surprise addition to the team is Sudanese refugee Yool Yool, who moved to Australia when he was four years old.

He is poised to become the first Sudanese-born rugby talent to represent Australia in any format.

Dietrich Roach, Henry Paterson, Kristan Jensen, Ben Dowling, Brumbies Academy players Jed Stuart and Corey Toole are the other new faces in Tim Walsh’s team.

Former Melbourne Rebels flyer Billy Meakes, who recently won a Major League Rugby title alongside Matt Giteau and Adam Ashley-Cooper with the LA Giltinis, will also make a surprise sevens return a decade after debuting at the same venue.

Australia will play Canada, France and Fiji in pool play.
