Flying Fijians held by Georgia

The Vodafone Flying Fijians were held 15-15 by Georgia in their third and final match of the Northern Tour this morning.

The hosts played with a lot of passion and determination and led 9-5 at halftime with flyhalf Tedo Abzhandadze slotting in three penalties while Fiji managed to score a try in the 28th minute through winger Aminiasi Tuimaba.

Ben Volavola narrowed the deficit with a successful penalty early in the second half but two successive penalties by Abzhandadze further extended Georgia's lead by 15-8.

Number 8 Viliame Mata scored Fiji's second try midway in the second half and a successful conversion by Volavola leveled up the scores.

Fiji had more possession in the last quarter but poor ball handling skills and decision making avoided them from scoring more points.

The Gareth Baber coached side started its tour with a 43-13 win over Spain and lost to Wales 38-23 before today's 15-15 draw against Georgia.
