Fiji books place in Dubai 7s semis

Fiji has booked its place in the Cup semi-final of the Dubai 7s after beating Kenya 19-5 in the last quarterfinal at the Sevens Stadium today.

The match started with some big tackles and Kenya managed to score first through Herman Humwa in the 4th minute.

Lanky Joseva Talacolo got the Fijians back into the game with a steal from a breakdown.

Waisea Nacuqu converted to put Fiji up by 7-5.

Rover Filipe Sauturaga scored a brilliant individual try in the 9th minute after getting a neat feed inside the Fijian 22 and racing away to the try-line and beating three defenders in a one-on-one situation.

Nacuqu converted as Fiji led 14-5 at the break.

Replacement winger Panapasa Qeruqeru sealed the match with the third try midway in the second half.

Fiji will meet USA in the second semi-final while the first semi-final will be contested by favourites South Africa and Argentina.
