South Africa wins 9th Dubai 7s title

South Africa won its 9th Dubai 7s title this morning after beating Australia 10-7 in the final in front of 100,000 spectators at the Sevens Stadium.

Captain Siviwe Soyizwapi scored first in the 1st minute of play but Australia replied through Cory Toole and a successful conversion by Dietrich Roache gave them a 7-5 lead at halftime.

Towering forward JC Pretorius scored the winning try for the Blitzboks in the 12th minute.

Earlier in the semifinals, South Africa overcame France 19-12  while Australia walloped Argentina 40-0.
