Matavesi sin-binned in Saints win

Flying Fijians and Northampton Saints hooker Sam Matavesi was penalised in their 40-19 victory over bottom placed Bath in a Premiership match today.

Saints earned their bonus point before the break with two tries from Juarno Augustus and one each Rory Hutchinson and Tommy Freeman, all converted by Wales stand-off Dan Biggar.

Bath kept in touch with scores from Sam Underhill and Lewis Boyce while De Glanville kicked a conversion.

Saints trailed by 28-12 at half-time.

When Saint’s Matavesi received an early second-half sin-bin, Bath took advantage and scored through Will Stuart and De Glanville converted to cut the gap to nine points.

But the Saints replied with two more tries from home winger Courtnall Skosan, the second of them from a cross-field kick by George Furbank, who added the conversion.
