Big bro Sam helps out: Joel Matavesi

Northampton Saints newcomer Joel Matavesi says his brother and Flying Fijians hooker  Sam has been helping him adjust at the club.

Matavesi told the club's website that his elder sibling has been really good and helpful.

“He’s helped me out loads, not just in the environment, but outside as well.”

Joel said it was now also more convenient for their father to watch them play rugby.

“Last season, I was up in Newcastle while Sam was here and Josh was at Bath, so it’s easier for my dad now to watch us play.

Joel made his Premiership Rugby Cup debut at inside centre last week during the 34-26 win over Newcastle Falcons.
