46th Fiji Bitter Marist 7s U21 champions Dominion Brothers have dedicated their win to Olympic gold medalists Sireli Maqala and Jiuta Wainiqolo.
CaptainTevita Nabosebosaiwaqa revealed that former reps Maqala and Wainiqolo were the reason behind their win on Saturday.
Nabosebosaiwaqa said the duo boosted the team morale and also gave them some good lessons through video call.
"We just want to thank Sireli and Jiuta. Because of them we managed to win this title."
"We came as underdogs in the tournament and they told us to remain quiet and make a strong comeback this year."
"During our training session, we would get advice from them through video calls on the areas we need to work on and also some good techniques of scoring tries."
The 20-year-old, who is also chasing the footsteps of Maqala and Wainiqolo said he is determined to give his best performance at the Malake 7s next month.
"I have my dreams in 7s rugby and that is to be part of the Fiji 7s squad and for that I will have to work hard and stay focused on my 7s career."
"For me this is just the beginning and with the support from Maqala and Jiuta-I believe that one day I will play for Fiji at an international 7s tournament."
"They were from Dominion and have left a good benchmark for the upcoming players. We know that selection won’t be easy but the boys are trying really hard," he added.
