Kalounivale named in Black Ferns squad

Former Suva Grammar student Tanya Kalounivale has been named in the Black Ferns 44-member squad.

Kalounivale, who plays for the Chiefs women in the inaugural 2022 Super Rugby Aupiki, is a strong Farah Palmer Cup campaigner, in which her scrummaging was hard to fault for the runners-up, creating space for the sharp backline to cut some shapes.

The Fijian tight head prop debuted for Waikato in 2017, not long after her school days were over.

Out of the 44 contracted players, the side sees the remaining 19 players picked from the Sky Super Rugby Aupiki form.

The squad will march into camp in early April.
