Crafty Nasinu midfielder Jasnit Vikash has overcome niggling injuries to regain his lost form.
The 27-year-old bank officer netted Nasinu’s winner via a free-kick against his former district Navua in Round 7 of the Digicel Premier League, and the goal reignited the passion in the Macuata native to work extra hard and help the giant killers register more wins.
“Last season was very tough for me as I was plagued with injuries and could not play matches for Navua. It was disappointing. I also had work commitments and it all just jeopardised my playing career.”
“I am happy to be back and I am thankful to Lami Futsal for giving me the chance to get back on track after my recovery. Futsal really helped me to regain my lost form and made me more confident with my touches and finishing.”
“I am happy to rejoin Nasinu as I got recognised in Premier Division by playing for the side two seasons ago. When I was approached to return, I did not think twice because I knew I would be more settled with the team.”
“Initially, I struggled and missed the first few rounds of the DPL, but when I was given the chance to don the jersey, I ensured I gave my best and getting a goal has really boosted my confidence and will surely push me to chase more glory.”
Nasinu Coach Mira Sahib said Vikash is an integral part of his game plan.
“He is very good in set-piece play and having him in the team surely gives us an advantage as 30 per cent of scoring opportunities in a match can come from set-pieces.”
“Jasnit’s work rate is good on the field and he is also a good leader. His experience is vital for the young side and I expect more good performances from him,” said Sahib.
Meanwhile, NZOTC Nasinu will face Nadroga in Round 8 of the DPL at Prince Charles Park in Nadi on Sunday.
The match will kick off at 12pm.
