Vunivalu ready for Reds return

Winger Suliasi Vunivalu ends his contract with the Queensland Reds this year but will make a decision on staying in rugby union once he is back on the playing field.

Vunivalu told rugby.com.au that he would like to stay in rugby but he is not going to make any decision (on 2023) until he is back on the field and has played three or four games.

Vunivalu returned to full training since 2021 after recovering from two extensive surgeries to his hamstring, but the speed merchant just wants to get back to playing.

“I ran at full pace last week.

I’m back in the main training group with contact and I’ll be fit to play after the Brumbies game on Saturday,”

“I never want to be talking about my hamstring again.

Scoring tries, catching kicks, that’s my job.”

Vunivalu is set to make his return for the Reds in the April 15 Super Rugby clash against the Melbourne Rebels.
