Fans to meet Super W champions

Fans will have a chance to catch up with Super W champions the Rooster Chicken Fijiana Drua at the anticipated Swire Shipping Fijian Drua and Chiefs clash in Lautoka next week.

The Fijiana Drua continue to be the toast of the nation, after their historic maiden voyage in their first international competition.

We’ll introduce them at Churchill Park, and fans will also have the chance to meet the team, and get autographs and photos,” said chief executive Brian Thorburn.

“This is just one of several celebrations we are sure will be planned for the Fijiana Drua following their amazing Super W victory.

Thorburn added it would be one of the few opportunities for fans to meet their heroines before they begin their final preparation for this year’s Rugby World Cup.

“We know it will be a short break for them before they regroup to prepare for an even bigger challenge ahead, the World Cup in New Zealand.”

Meanwhile, close to 3,000 tickets have been sold or allocated in the first two days of public sales.

“With a capacity of only 11,000, this leaves only around 8,000-odd tickets left for sale.

“Given how fast sales are going, we encourage everyone to get their tickets early, as we don’t think there will be too many left for sale at the gates on matchday.

“A big vinaka to our fans who will enjoy an amazing match and atmosphere at Lautoka’s first Super Rugby Pacific match.”
