Fiji outclasses Kenya in Toulouse 7s

The Fiji men's 7s team registered a 29-5 win over Kenya in its opening match of the Toulouse 7s in France this morning.

The Ben Gollings coached side looked ruthless and played with a lot of confidence against their African opponents,

Tries from Kaminieli Rasaku, Waisea Nacuqu and Elia Canakaivata together with a successful conversion from Rasaku gave the Fijians a 17-0 before the Shujaa responded with a try to Alvin Otieno.

Rasaku and replacement Filipe Sauturaga scored two more tries in the second half and Napolioni Bolaca added a conversion to wrap up the win for the Fijians.

Fiji plays Wales next at 8.33am.

Meanwhile, Ireland recorded a 21-12 upset win over Series leaders South Africa in the opening match.

In other games, USA defeated Australia 24-19, host France walloped Wales 56-5, Vancouver 7s champions Argentina thrashed Japan 43-5, England overpowered Canada 24-5, New Zealand posted a 19-0 win over Scotland and Samoa proved too strong for Spain and registered a 42-12 win.
