Former 7s Coach Veidreyaki dies

Former Fiji 7s coach Peni Veidreyaki has passed away at the age of 69.

The renowned mentor of the abbreviated code hailed from Waya Island in the Yasawa Group, and after coaching Namoli 7s, he took on the mantle of coaching the Fiji 7s team in 1999.

He was the first to win five tournaments for Fiji under one coach on the then International Rugby Board World Sevens Series 1999-2000 season.

Veidreyaki died at the Lautoka Hospital after a short illness.
