New Zealand teams best for Drua: Kerr

Swire Shipping Fijian Drua flyhalf Baden Kerr believes New Zealand franchises would bring the best out of the team in Super Rugby Pacific.

The former Blues player is one of only three players in the team who has had experience playing against the New Zealand franchise teams prior to the Fijian Drua’s inclusion in Super Rugby.

“We like to play fast rugby and so do the New Zealand teams so we are going to like playing them,” Kerr told FijiLive.

Kerr said he was impressed with his sides performance during the 35-18 loss to the Blues last week in Melbourne and expects more of that control from his team this weekend.

“We bought a lot of physicality into that game, and that’s what we need playing against these New Zealand teams and to be in there faces.

“We keep that running game and a lot more physicality and we will have a great game this weekend.”
