Fiji-born number 8 Mateitoga Bogidraumainadave scored a try in Japan women's 24-10 victory over the Australian Barbarians in their second test match yesterday.
Both teams fought hard but flanker Kyoko Hosokawa opened the scoring for the Japanese and Kotono Yasuo converted for a 7-nil lead while the Barbarians struggled for continuity.
Bogidraumainadave gifted the Japanese their second try as she proved unstoppable from the five metre scrum and crashed over to the try line and Yasuo converted for a 14-0 lead at the break.
The Barbarians came into action in the second stanza as Grace Kemp bulldozed through the Barbarians defense and set up their first try to Tatum Bird but their conversion failed.
A mistake in the Japanese defense saw Barbarians pick up possession and Melanie Wilks took great advantage pulling their second try although conversion missed to reduce the gap.
The Japanese made a quick comeback with full back Hinata Komaki picking up a loose ball headed straight to the try line for their third try while Komachi Imakugi converted and slotted a penalty to seal the win.
Japan will play the Wallaroos on Tuesday.
