Bukayaro to step up in Toulouse 7s

Fiji 7s playmaker Pilipo Bukayaro is expected to take over from the absent Jerry Tuwai at this weekend's Toulouse 7s.

The 23-year-old playmaker from Natewa Village in Cakaudrove has been one of coach Ben Gollings' finds, and will be banked on to play a bigger role.

“Pilipo brings a similar style to of play to Jerry, and is an expert at what it does,” Gollings told FijiLive.

“We are sure to see him showcase more of what his is capable of soon.”

Bukayaro will be aided by the experience of returning pivot and gold medalist Napolioni Bolaca.

Although dual Olympic Games gold medal winner Tuwai misses out on the Toulouse and London 7s, Gollings pointed at bigger things down the track

“I want to support him have better preparation and as we build towards commonwealth games and Rugby World Cup 7s he does not need to prove his quality whilst we look at players.

He is on standby if we have any injuries.”

The Toulouse kicks off on Friday night at 10pm at at Stade Ernest-Wallon.
