South Africa 7s star playmaker Selvyn Davids has been declared medically unfit to travel to play in the HSBC France Sevens this weekend.
The Springbok Sevens in a statement said that 21-year-old Dalvon Blood has replaced Davids and is set to make his HSBC World Rugby 7s Series debut this weekend.
Meanwhile, Head Coach Neil Powel has made four other changes in the squad with the most capped Blitzbok ever Branco du Preez and try-scoring outside back Muller du Plessis also making their strong returns.
Du Preez was called after the playmaker recovered from a shoulder injury he picked up at the Seville 7s and will appear in his 80th World Series tournament.
Powell also called on Tiaan Pretorius, with the 21-year-old coming into the forwards to provide cover for the injured duo of Sakoyisa Makata and Christie Grobbelaar.
Mfundo Ndhlovu has recovered from the head knock sustained in Singapore and will travel to Toulouse.
South Africa is seeded in Pool D with Samoa, Ireland and Spain.
