Duo's inclusion is timely: Ikanikoda

Fiji 7s and Northland playmaker Livai Ikanikoda says coach Ben Gollings made the right decision to include Semi Kunatani and Sevuloni Mocenacagi back into the fold.

Ikanikoda said it is a timely move, especially with the Commonwealth Games and Rugby World Cup Sevens edging closer this year.

“A very good decision by coach Ben Gollings to bring in the experience of Semi and Sevu, it is a big year and he will need good experience around him,” Ikanikoda told FijiLive.

The Naitasiri man said Kunatani and Mocenacagi would also be a boost for the younger players that have started to make their name in the abbreviated code.

They (Kunatani and Mocenacagi) will be a great motivating factor for the young players who are trying to prove themselves, they will also teach them on how to adapt quickly on the big stage.”

“I know bot Semi and Sevu have also worked hard to get back in the team, and I am very happy for them.”

Ikanikoda played flyhalf for Northland during their 10-6 loss to Naitasiri during the Farebrother Trophy Challenge over the weekend at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori.
