Ex-players boosted Fiji at Toulouse: Gollings

National 7s Head Coach Ben Gollings revealed that former Fiji 7s and World 7s stars boosted the performance of the Fiji 7s team at the Toulouse 7s in France over the weekend.

 

Gollings said the ex-players came to support Fiji during their 29-17 win against a tough Ireland in the tournament final.

 

"I can think it's fantastic for me having been an ex-player. I think I understand it from both sides and it's great really to be able to connect the groups together. 

 

It's good for our team to meet some of their probable icons and players that they've looked up to."

 

"And for these guys to share some of their experience and knowledge and give support. I think it's been a really healthy experience this week and managed really well. The ex-players and the players here in France have been a great support."

 

"And I think our players enjoy it. So I feel it's been really positive for the team this week," he explained.
