Digicel National football team will re-group after the Digicel Fiji FACT tournament to prepare for friendly matches against Oceania countries in June.
National football Head Coach Flemming Serritslev told FijiLive, they are looking forward to playing three friendly matches in the 2022 June FIFA window.
Serritslev said Fiji had disappointing losses during the World Cup Qualifiers in Qatar due to lack of international friendly matches.
"Fiji needs to draw attention towards building a professional football team and that can only happen if we often go through international friendlies."
"We have quality players who are just tested in the local competitions at home but they need to be tested against overseas teams."
"We realised our strengths and weaknesses after the loss to New Zealand and Papua New Guinea because the class of football they played informed us of their preparation locally and internationally."
"Now our aim is to build a professional team and for that we need to play international friendlies during the June window."
"We have already informed FIFA about our need for more games and we are just waiting for their confirmation," he said.
