Fijiana beaten in Langford 7s opener

Fijiana went down 20-19 to the USA in their opening match of the Langford 7s in Canada this morning.

The Saiasi Fuli coached side allowed the Americans to score two tries through Kris Thomas and Ilona Masher and lead 10-0 at the break.

Reapi Uluinasau got the Fijians back after the break with a beautiful try before Kayla Canett scored the third try for the USA.

Aloesi Nakoci kept Fiji in the hunt with a try which was converted by Lavena Cavuru but a Jaz Gray try sealed the deal for the USA with their fourth try.

Nakoci scored again in the 13th minute and a successful conversion from Viniana Riwai saw them end the match by just a point.

Fijiana meets England next at 7.56am.
