Nadroga eager to bounce back

Nadroga will be eager to bounce back this week when they play their second game away from home against Namosi but know the challenge is easier said than done.

Team manager Sikeli Basiyalo said they had brushed away the disappointing 21-18 loss against Suva at the ANZ Stadium, and are ready to make amends.

“We gave away the game at the last minute and wasted quality scoring oppurtunities,” Basiyalo said.

“We cannot afford to do that this week if we want to keep in the hunt.”

Namosi bounced back from trailing 15-8 to level the score against Tailevu at Ratu Cakobau Park last week, with Basiyalo saying playing Namosi in their own backyard was never an easy task.

“They will fight us every step of the way, but I have confidence in our young side to get the job done.

In this week’s Skipper Cup round Namosi host Nadroga at Thomson Park in Navua, while defending champions Suva also travel to Burebasaga District School to meet hosts Rewa.

An all eastern derby with Tailevu taking on kinsmen Northland at Ratu Cakobau Park while points leaders, the undefeated Naitasiri side travel to meet Nadi at Churchill Park on Saturday.
