Ex Australian Rugby League lock Braith Anasta believes Fiji Bati forward Tariq Sims can do magic for the NSW Blues in the State of Origin next month.
Speaking on NRL 360, Anasta said Sims' performance has impressed him saying “he was an excellent servant for NSW last year” while he also questioned whether the Blues would stay loyal given their success in recent years with Sims.
"Tariq Sims was fantastic in the series last year."
"It was Sims and Murray who played in the most recent game for the Blues."
"I would go Sims and Martin."
"Sims did a great job last year."
"I know he has had indifferent form this year, but do you pick and stick or not?"
"Daniel Saifiti is struggling. I feel like they are going to lean towards loyalty and go with a struggling player in Daniel Saifiti."
"Tariq Sims at the Saints has been inconsistent."
"So Martin and Sims would be the edge."
"If they are loyal and want to have that NSW pride and they won the series last year, it is probably Sims and Wighton that get a start again, which I would think they would go with," he added.
