Fiji-born Australian cross-code Suliasi Vunivalu has overcome recent injury scares to get back on the Wallabies radar for the 2023 Rugby World Cup.
Despite failing to be part of the Wallabies test last year due to injuries, Vunivalu keeps giving excellent performance for the Queensland Reds in this year’s Super Rugby Pacific with much improved performance weekly.
Rugby.com.au reports that Vunivalu has been named in the Super Rugby team of the week also showing why he remains on the Wallabies radar even after a string of injuries.
He was instrumental in the Reds' two first-half tries, latching onto a Tate McDermott pass and showcasing his strength to barge over the line.
The lRugby League convert turned provider as he barged All Blacks winger Caleb Clarke with an excellent run, patient enough to pop a good pass from the turf to Ryan Smith to score.
He finished the night with a try, a try assist, five tackle busts and 58 metres.
