10 Drua players in Fijiana team

Fijiana XV’s coach Senirusi Seruvakula has named only 10 players from Super W champions Rooster Chicken Fijian Drua in his 26 member squad for next month’s Oceania Championship.

The squad includes 18 local and international players that will debut for the national team in Auckland, New Zealand

Drua players such as Joma Rubuti, Vika Matarugu, Jade Coates, Vitalina Tawake and Merewalesi Rokouono will be an added asset to the side with their international experience.

Five overseas based players in Asinate Serevi, Talei Kidd, Sulita Waisega, Emma Masi and Talei Wilson also bring experience to the side.

“It’s an ideal opportunity to give game time to these new set of players and actually gauge them when it comes to the test level,” Seruvakula said on his selection.

Seruvakula said players that miss out will continue training in Fiji.

“Those left out will continue to do their daily training at the nearest High-Performance Centers and will march into the camp for our final phase of preparation once we are back in Fiji after the Oceania Championship".

The Fijiana plays Papua New Guinea in its first match on July 9, Tonga on July 13 before taking on Samoa in their final game on July 17.

Fijiana XV’s squad: Joma Rubuti, Mereoni Namositava, Miriama Kunagale, Vika Matarugu, Litia Marama, Seruwaia Qauqau, Merevesi Ofakimalino, Karavaki Lutumaibau, Jade Coates, Lowata Talilevu, Makereta Bulou, Asinate Serevi, Emma Masi, Fulori Nabura, Sulita Waisega, Bitila Tawake, Rejieli Uluinayau, Merewalesi Rokouono, Vitalina Naikore, Wainikiti Vosadrau, Eavivi Senikarivi, Adita Milina, Unaisi Tagabale, Ilisapeci Delaiwau, Rachel Leqeretabua, Talei Kidd, Sisilia Namatasere, Talei Wilson, Bulou Vasuturaga, Salote Vakaturi
