2021 was frustrating, says Vunivalu

Fiji-born Wallabies and Queensland Reds winger Suliasi Vunivalu says 2021 was a frustrating year for him where he experienced injuries and failed to achieve the goals he set.

Speaking to rugby.com.au, Vunivalu said he is aiming to overcome all obstacle and make 2022 a successful season with the Wallabies.

"I had goals that I wanted to tick off last year but didn't go my way but with that being said, I had time to sit back and see other things that I didn't do right with my body, what I eat and I sit back and watch more rugby side to get good understanding so learning from there."

The former NRL star said after recovering from the hamstring injury he sustained last year, he has become more determined to achieve his Wallabies test cap against England next month.

"This year feels a lot better."

"My body feels a lot better as well."

"So the main goal is going into this year without any injury. My off-season focus was my injuries, I had hamstring surgery last year so when my focus is trying to get my leg better again and yet changed a couple of things in thinking which is going to help my leg will help me in training that's a goal right there.

"I never want to be talking about my hamstring again and just want to talk about how good that I haven't yet. Like get some kick-starting tries."

"That's my job and fingers crossed."
