Botia can fit in different positions: Cotter

Vodafone Flying Fijians Coach Vern Cotter says Captain Levani Botia can easily fit in a number of positions and he is keeping his options open ahead of the team's Pacific Nations Cup opener against Tonga in Suva on Saturday.

The La Rochelle trump card from Naivucini Village in Naitasiri according to Cotter is one of his many assets he can rely on to slot in vital positions when needed.

“He is a midfielder first, and he will play there (flanker) if we need him in a game or if we have a yellow card.”

“If we have got Levani Botia at number seven, he will be a tough nut in that contact zone area.

“And that is a profile that we need moving forward, and there are other players that can be developed there as well.”

The Flying Fijians backrow pod includes Edinburgh looseman Mesulame Kunavula, former London Irish player Albert Tuisue and Swire Shipping Fijian Drua inclusions Rusiate Nasove and Te Ahiwaru Cirikidaveta.
