Fijiana ready for Oceania 7s

The Fijiana 7s side is ready for this weekend's Oceania Sevens in Auckland and Captain Rusila Nagasau is confident they will return with good results.

The Olympic Games bronze medalist said they have put in the hard work and are ready to test themselves in New Zealand before next month's Commonwealth Games.

“We need this tournament, especially when we want to gauge ourselves and where we are at,” Nagasau said.

The team has been in camp for a month since its bronze medal finish at the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series Toulouse 7s.

“We have been under the pump, and training has been another level.

“Coach Fuli is preparing us well and we have to especially going up against teams like Australia and New Zealand.

Nagasau added the team is lucky to be preparing themselves against two of the biggest teams, and knows they can only go up from here.

“We are looking forward to playing these two big power houses, and will show them once more that we can compete.”
