Return of senior reps is a boost: Rabele

Vodafone Fiji Bati coach Jo Rabele says the return of senior players will be an added boost for the younger stars now trying to find their footing.

Captain Kevin Naiqama, his co-captain Viliame Kikau alongside experienced players Taane Milne and Waqa Blake have returned for the lone June test against the Papua New Guinea Kumuls tonight.

“There have been no test rugby for the last two years and we are fortunate that they put their hands up to come back and get a feel again ahead of the World Cup,” Rabele said.

“With the inclusion of new players into the extended squad like Iosefo Masi, and Vuate Karawalevu, it is good as we look to build up on the experience these players will have at this level.

Rabele said with a strong lineup named,  he is confident his players will put on a good show.

“We have a strong backline and lacks no experience and I am sure they are capable of the task in front of them, but I am more excited just to see them play test rugby after a two year absence.”

The Fiji Bati and PNG Kumuls test match kicks off at Campbelltown Stadium in Sydney at 9.50pm tonight.
