Scouts at FSSRL quarterfinals

Players competing in the Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby League national quarterfinals have an added reason to give their best as overseas scouts are in the country to hunt for talents.

North Queensland Cowboys Program Manager Glen Hall and Recruitment Manager Dane Camphell were at Garvey Park and Tavua College to watch the Under 15 to Under 19 national quarterfinals.

“It is great to have seasoned experts watching the matches, and it will definitely boost the players to bring out the best in their game,” said national secretary Taniela Vakamoce.

“Scouts are no stranger to secondary schools rugby league, and many of our products have gone on to stardom in both rugby league and rugby union.”

Both Hall and Camphell scouted current Penrith Panthers star and Fiji Bati Viliame Kikau alongside many other names.

Vakamoce said they were excited for what could be in store for our young players.

“It is definitely a door opener for them, and we know that a few of these boys will be future household names.”
