Fiji Bati Captain Kevin Naiqama says the Pacific Test match against the Papua New Guinea Kumuls will prepare them for the Rugby League World Cup later this year.
According to Naiqama, the test is important for Fiji because the COVID-19 pandemic did not allow them to play any friendly games in the last two years.
"The main purpose for this camp and game is to prepare ourselves for the bigger picture which is the World Cup this year."
"We haven't got to play any test since 2019 and now we just have to grab this opportunity and get the combinations in."
"There's some good mixture of new and senior players in the team who put their hands up for this match."
"Yes, it's an important game and we just have to go out there and give the best performance," he said.
The Fiji Bati vs PNG Kumuls match kicks off at 9.50 pm at Campbelltown Stadium in Sydney on Saturday.
